Come on over and have a beer, eat some chips, and give me head.

3. Black Swan
4. Dogtooth
5. Blue Valentine
6. Father of my Children
7. Toy Story 3

2010 in a jiffy.
2010 switched back and forth between a roller coaster and a row boat. The year started out great with a much needed vacation to New York. On my return I was awarded with a promotion and the opportunity to keep my nights free. For those who don't know, for the past few years I had worked a full time night shift job. Coming in at 5:30pm and getting out at 2:00am. Sounds like hell, right? Yeah, it was. So much in fact that a full-time day shift job in even the most monotonous position sounded heavenly. The idea (dream?) was to reconnect with old friends, make plenty more, catch every film, every band and party the nights away. Basically, have a normal life. That didn't happen.
As the weeks went by my mental state hadn't changed. I was still the same old bitter fucking asshole I had always been. People didn't pull away from me because I worked a night shift position and thus had very little time to give. It was because I was a vortex of negative energy sucking in everyone who came near me. Once this realization finally set in, something quite strange happened. I came across this postcard right above on postsecret.com. Once I saw it I immediately smiled. This quote has stayed with me ever since, as well as a very special gal I met a few weeks after.
I realized the only thing keeping me from happiness was myself. I didn't need the day shift at all, but to embrace life, even the darkest of times, in a positive manner, truly work hard on my career, expand my knowledge on all things, and welcome all those whom I cross paths with (still working on that last one. I mean come on, once a cynical asshole, always a cynical asshole, right?).
